We were asked to design a holiday home on a hill overlooking the beautiful green and open landscape of Ucimont not far from idyllic Bouillon. The design of the house is linked in views and use to the given poetic landscape and natural slope.
The house is made of sustainable and local materials with respect for orientation, history and the enclosing landscape and views.
The house follows the slope and consists of larger stepped day sections overlooking the valley and the south sun that penetrates deep into the volume from the street side. The sleeping areas are on the side elevation and are the buffer to the storage rooms and the nearest neighbour and have an understated character.
