In her design, An tries to create a balance between beauty, respect for the existing context, the use of sustainable elements and most important of all the use and liveability of the new space for the inhabitants.
She graduated as an architect from the Henry van de Velde Institute (now UAntwerpen) and then obtained a postgraduate degree in architecture and urban design from the Royal University College of Fine Arts and Architecture in Stockholm.
An worked in bigger offices in Antwerp for the past few years. She worked with B-architecten and Stramien architectuur & ruimte CV. Before this experience in Antwerp, she was active in several offices in Stockholm where she lived and worked for five years.
Today she is designing and building smaller projects alone or in co-operation with Leen de Brabandere and murmuur architecten.
Besides her professional career as an architect, An is also active since 2017 at the University of Antwerp where she is teaching (Assistant professor) in the first year of architecture. She also provides academic support and coordinates the team of colleagues and students.
